I have a gorgeous wrap dress hanging in my closet. It's 11 years old and just as gorgeous as the day I bought it. Diane von Furstenberg, known for her wrap dress and the reemergence of her brand in the late 1990s, combines patterns and jersey with creativity and assurance. I lift a glass to toast this fashion icon's 66th birthday. Whoopee! Woot! Woot!

An Obsession Takes Flight
With 2013 just a few days away, a textile blog seems to be the the new year resolution which strikes the right creative chord within me. I can't resist Chanel couture, the patterns of Vera Bradley, or vibrant Peruvian blankets. If you can't either, come join me on this international adventure into the social fabric of nations far and wide, the beauty of women's work across the globe, and my personal journey into the aesthetics of textiles. Bon Voyage!
